Dusk rested through the window balcony of the New Avengers Tower, despite their privately adopted name as the Thunderbolts. Bucky sat there basking in it, glass of whiskey nestled in his palm. Majority of the Thunderbolts (Bob, Yelena, Ava) had retreated to their respective rooms in the tower for the night. Which left Bucky, Alexi and Walker all awake in the living space, with you joining them. All the super soldiers engaged in inebriated conversation. Despite their enhanced metabolism, they trio was sloshed. Alexi was recalling tales of raising Yelena, random stories from when she was little. When Bucky chimed in.

"You know, I had a kid once."

Walker and Alexi both turned to him with a bewildered expression. Not only would they had never expected that sentence to leave the Winter Soldier's lips, but they'd never heard him speak that way. Bucky's tone was low, a tinge of bittersweet emotion they weren't prepared for.
