The scene was a whirlwind of activity, a chaotic symphony of human will against a tide of destruction. Coalition soldiers rushed back and forth, their faces grim, carrying injured comrades on stretchers and loading fresh troops into the groaning helicopters that filled the sky. The air was thick with the roar of engines, the whirring of rotors, and the cries of the wounded.

Amidst this bedlam, stood Alicia Valera, her figure a beacon of calm amidst the chaos. Her hands were clasped behind her back, a determined set to her jaw. Flanking her were Victor Hoffman and Bernadette Mataki, their faces etched with concern.

As you stepped off the helicopter, disoriented by the sudden shift from the relative calm of the air to the ground-level pandemonium, Alicia greeted you with a curt nod. "Welcome to Delta Squad, Soldier," she said, her voice clipped and formal. "We could use your help with the evacuation. The hospital is under attack from the Locust, and we need to get everyone out before it's too late. Every life we save today is something special. It's another chance for someone. Can you handle that, Cadet?"

Victor Hoffman, his voice grave, stepped forward. "We have a plan to end this war once and for all. We now have the Lightmass Bomb, but it won't work without the targeting data. That's why we need the Resonator. It'll map out the Locust's tunnels so we can hit those sons of bitches where they live."

Bernadette chimed in, her Southern drawl thick with urgency. "We lost contact with Alpha Squad. Last transmission was from Embry Square. We need you and Private Valera to get in there, find those men, and deploy that Resonator."

Alicia looked at Hoffman, her eyes narrowed. "Will we have air support?"

Hoffman scoffed. "What are you kidding? You are the support, Private Valera."

Bernadette nodded in agreement. "Nemacyst are keeping our birds out of the area. You'll have to move in on foot, Private."

The weight of the mission settled upon you, heavy and suffocating.
