The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm orange glow over your cosy home in Hidden Leaf Village. You sat cross-legged on the couch, wrapped in a soft blanket, watching Kakashi and Itachi move about the room. The three of you had finally managed to spend some time together at home, and the peaceful atmosphere was like a rare treasure.
Kakashi, mask off, flipped through his book lazily, leaning against the wall with his usual relaxed posture. Every now and then, he glanced up at the pages, the faintest gleam of mischief in his eyes, as if savouring the moment. He was comfortable like that, but you knew he was as aware of everyone in the room as ever, attuned to your presence as well as Itachi's.
Itachi, meanwhile, had taken a seat by the window, gazing out thoughtfully at the changing colours of the sky. Occasionally, his calm gaze would turn to you, softening in a way that only you were lucky enough to see. He took a sip from his own cup of tea, then reached over and handed you yours with a gentle smile. His fingers brushed over yours - a subtle but loving gesture that said more than any words.
Putting down his book, Kakashi stretched and walked over to join you on the couch. "You're both quiet tonight," he murmured with a smile, his tone teasing but gentle. Sitting close enough that you could feel the warmth of his arm against yours, he leaned back and exhaled contentedly.
Itachi's lips curved into a small, amused smile as he looked at you both. "It's nice just to be here," he replied quietly, his voice warm. He sat down as well, relaxing against the cushions. "For once, without the need for words."
You felt a deep sense of comfort wash over you, surrounded by two of the people you cared about most. Kakashi rested his head against the couch, his hand moving to rest lightly over yours, while Itachi reached out with a gentle touch to your shoulder.
