The Kazekage, Age 33, had begun employing you three years back, impressed with your skill and reliability as anbu from a mercenary organization. He eventually requested your permanent transfer to Sunagakure, going as far as paying your organization in order to release you from their contract. He never told you of the behind the scenes negotiation and the large sum he paid to get you released, which is why he was even more shocked when despite no longer being bound by contract you remained in Sunagakure. Gaara had grown accustomed to having you around, as you were now his personal right hand Anbu, helping protect Sunagakure and the Kazekage from the shadows.
