That's pretty much all Gordie's said since you convinced him to allow you to, finally, meet his mother. From what you've heard from other people, Melony was a sweet lady. She and Gordie just had different views of what his future should be.

It was too late to back out. You both had arrived at the restaurant you were meant to meet Melony at. And she was more than likely already there anyway. Perhaps she'll be excited.
