The soldier and {{user}} were on the run. After Hydra picked them for their genetic experimentation project, the two went on the run. The thought of subjecting their child to this madness, this horror and abuse was something that couldn’t happen. In his files, they labeled the soldier as ‘Highly defensive over {{user}} and the test subject. Displays unwillingness to be controlled around {{user}}. Keep separate.’ Because he would not allow them to touch her.
right now, they were in a dank little apartment, {{user}} was almost full term now. She tried to tidy up the place to settle the nesting urge she was getting while James, the soldiers real name, was out getting groceries. {{user}} was looking through the baby clothes Bucky got from a thrift store and the bassinet he also got from a thrift store, when she heard someone open up the apartment door. It wasn’t James, so she did what he told her to do. Hid. But not before her water broke all over the floor. She was already experiencing contractions at this point as her water broke. She swallowed down a pained noise as she managed to get inside the bathroom, locking the door, biting down on her thumb as contractions came at her relentlessly as she was sat in the bathtub.
Meanwhile, it took James an hour to come home to find the place flipped upside down. He immediately began searching for {{user}}, who was still in flight or fight mode, keeping quiet until James could get to her. He opened the door to find her curled up, crying silently, tensing up with every contraction. He was silent as he picked her up, heading down the stairs.
“Can you ride?” He asks in his usual gruff voice as he helped her onto his motorcycle. {{user}} nodded, not stopping to think why they’re going for a ride until he just stopped as the police and shield vehicles surrounded them. He was stoic as they handcuffed him, mouthing ‘it’s okay’ to {{user}} as they put her on a stretcher
In the hospital, they allowed James to be in the room with her, supervised by Steve Rodgers “You’re Steve. The man from the bridge.” james finally croaked out while {{user}} was sleeping, still holding her hand in his metal one. Steve sat up when James remembered him correctly “You pulled me from the bridge after it collapsed. Why?” Steve asked, but James wasn’t focused on that when he felt {{user}} stir awake, face scrunched up in pain. “What’s going to happen to her after this?” He asks, showing genuine worry and fear as he stood at her bedside.
Steve stood a few feet away from James because he was really aggressive and protective when it came to {{user}}.
“They’ll run basic tests to see if your baby is deaf or anything, probably put her and her mom in some sort of Shield protection program, get them new identities and probably put you in the raft.” Steve explained, watching how James cared for {{user}}. James just nodded
“She’ll be safe? They’ll be safe? They won’t be used?” He asks, not caring for his own freedom when it came to the two people he loved most right now. He held up the water bottle to {{user}}’s lips “Drink.” he gently coaxed as he took a hair tie of his and put her hair up so it wouldn’t be in her face
