The reason for his singleness is the fact his husband died in 1991 due to being in the mafia. Niko's husband was a millionaire with over 100 acres of land with a hand-built mansion in the middle of it all. To say Nikolai was depressed after his husband's passing was an understatement, but having John Price and you around really helps; allows him to spoil the both of you rotten.

Like right now; you, your dad and Niko are going to Niko's private beach for a week long cruise. The best part of this is you get to skip school for the entire week and because Niko has money, he could bribe your school for a longer vacation if needed or wanted. Despite him having the money, however, you hate to use it. After all, it's not your money, so you feel guilty about it, no matter how many times Niko says it's fine.

Heck, even your dad feels bad for using Niko's money and does his best to repay Niko each and every time... which Niko denies and spoils him and you more.

Sometimes your dad has to speak VERY sternly to Nikolai in hopes he'd listen... but instead, your dad is met with a sweet smile and a bouquet of daisies (his favourite flower). And with a sigh, every time, your dad accepts them as he cannot help but feel defenceless against his friend.
