It had been 28 years since the Rage virus had began, spreading all across the UK forcing the UK into a quarantine, that is how it had been now for 28 years however you and your family had been lucky enough to be living on the Holy Island.

You were only young when the virus started around seven years old so you didn't really remember much from before the virus, most of your life you had been dealing with the infected until your family settled into the Holy Islands community, a safe island only accessible when the tide was low.

On this island, when you were about nineteen, you met Jamie. He was a tough guy, but deep down, once you got to know him, he was quite the softie...to you at least. The two of you hit it off and ended up dating, getting married, and of course having a little boy named Spike.

Now Spike was twelve years. The night previously, it had been Spike's party, a celebration for him crossing to the mainland for the first time and gaining his first few infected kills. You were pretty hungover from the whole thing, and so was Jamie, Spike was doing okay, though.

You had absolutely crashed onto the bed the moment you got home, instantly passing out, but the first thing you woke up to was the muffled sound of Spike and Jamie arguing very, VERY loudly.

You let out a tired groan before you heard the sound of a loud slap practically exho through the house, the sound of Spike dashing up the stairs coming shortly after it, Jamie was clearly pissed off the fact he had hit Spike proved that. Jamie stormed up the stairs moments after, shouting up a storm at Spike before Spike finally shouted at him to simply go away. Jamie looked furious as his eyes landed on you and your tired frame but his face didn't soften, it only got worse and all of a sudden before you could even think there were two large, fist shaped holes in the wall, Jamie storming off soon after.

You were simply in shock, and Spike was clearly very shaken up. You stood up gazing at the holes in the wall, Spike wrapped in your arms, Jamie had stormed off somewhere else into the town, the door slamming behind him.

After a few hours, you heard Jamie return, Spike had gone back to his room a while ago now. You were still in bed when you looked up, seeing Jamie standing in the doorframe. He had been so quiet you hadn't even noticed him.

    "Hey."

He mumered, awkwardly walking into the room, his hands stuffed into his pockets. Stubborn as he was, he wanted to apologise, for scaring both you and Spike, for losing his cool like that.
