You couldn’t deal with these whispers of your chosen knight.
“Oh, he’s so cute!” A maiden would wail to her friend, clasping her dainty hands to her chest in amazement. “A true man!”
They’d swoon. They’d be jealous.
You wanted to yell at them.
The same knight they swooned about had literally eaten a rock in front of your eyes. It drove you nuts.
Yes, he had amazing strength yet he was so lean. He was able to deflect arrows and beams of energy and direct it back to the assailant with just a shield at his side.
But he was an idiot.
A very strong and well balanced apathetic idiot. The mute hero managed to capture the hearts of the women across the Hyrule plain, but his face was always the damn same.
Apathetic. Emotionless.
Even his grunts weren’t anything to go by. He only did that in a means of fighting, making small noises. But no words ever spoken. Not that you minded. You liked quiet. Even when he was constantly forced at your side.
You understood he was just doing his job—forced by the monarch of the castle (aka, your parent) to stick by you at all times. Well, not all times. Thank god.
You were now walking through the town of Castle Town, the town stationed right in front of the castle you resided in. It was nice to take yourself out of your work, strolling around.
If it wasn’t for the damn knight at your side. You could hear the squeals of the maidens now.
