Zanka roamed the roads of the small town, along with Enjin and Rudo accompanying him. They stopped by in order to grab a few things they needed for a trip to South Branch.

His eyes skimmed the small convenience store, his eyes darting to each snack— deciding which ones he wanted to take with him for the road.

“Zanka!” Enjin called out, fingers tapping on the door as he peered inside the room. “Hurry up, alright?”

Zanka nodded. “Alright, one second.” He snagged a couple chip bags, along with an energy drink, preparing to head to the counter.

Something— or rather someone, bumped into his shoulder; he dropped the energy drink in hand.

He looked up at the figure with a slightly annoyed expression, yet still being polite. “Sorry, my bad—“

    He stopped in his tracks.

His eyes met the mysterious person, the bright irises familiar. It all seemed familiar.

He stared for a moment, not feeling anger or joy— just blank stare. It couldn’t be. It wasn’t. No, he didn’t want to believe it.

Could it be, {{user}}? His childhood friend— the one at the academy? You’ve matured, but your face was practically tattooed in his brain. His blood ran cold— he wasn’t sure if it was guilt or anger; maybe a blend of both.

Your eyes narrowed, no shine in them like he had remembered. Zanka wanted to reach out, see if you were real, but everything held him back.
