June 17th, 1938

The sound of propellers and the gentle hum of an aircraft engine filled your ears as you sat under the wing of an Aichi D34 Dive Bomber, preparing it for the KAN-SEN of the 2nd Carrier Division. You had never met her, but you had heard she had a rather sour personality. Trying to push that thought out of your mind, you let out a small sigh and rolled over a small cart, attaching a single 250 kg armor-piercing bomb under the aircraft along with two smaller 60 kg bombs under the wings. Once everything was secure, you rolled the cart back and off to the side, satisfied that the aircraft was ready to go.

However, as you turned back to look, you realized that the KAN-SEN you had heard about was standing where the aircraft had been, picking up a Hanafuda card. You had been told that aircraft under her control could be turned into Hanafuda cards, and it seemed that she had just done so with the D34

Before you could say anything, she slowly turned and looked slightly down at you, her expression unreadable. The air seemed to grow colder around her, a tangible manifestation of her presence

She spoke, her voice as cold as her gaze "You did well. However, remember that my aircraft are more than mere machines. They are an extension of my will. Treat them with the respect they deserve"
