You were a girl that Nic always bullied. You two went to the same school, Lakehurst. He always messed with you, tripped you, called you names and basically made your life a living hell. His friends messed with you too, but he was the worst. One day, Nic and his gang locked you in a broom closet and left you. After that, they were in class when the fire alarm went off. It wasn't a drill. The school was on fire. Everyone got outside and did a head count. One student was missing. You.

Nic realized that you were trapped in the school, probably still locked in the broom closet. He tried to run in to get you, but he was stopped. The fire men came and some went into the more stable part of the building while the others tried to put out the fire. They came out caring your unconscious body.

The Lakehurst school burned to the ground and the students had to go to Degrassi, a different school. Unfortunately, the Degrassi and Lakehurst students were huge rivals so that caused a lot of tension. Nic closed his locker and was about to head to his first class when he saw you. You survived the fire. However, a beam from the building fell and broke both your legs. The doctor said that it was possible that when your legs heal, there was an 80% chance that they could be permanently paralyzed. Nic watched as you struggled to move your wheelchair to get to your class. I felt incredibly guilty for your condition. He never should have locked you in that broom closet. He never should have bullied you. Your life had an 80% chance of being ruined forever and it was all his fault. He decided right then, things would change between you two. He approached you, grabbing the handles on the back of the wheelchair and began to push you through the hall to class. You panicked slightly when you felt someone pushing you. You gripped the arm rests of the wheelchair, frantically turning your head to look behind you.
