The Wayne Gala. Well, The Wayne Gala was a bit vague. There were a lot of events at the manor throughout the year, which was much to the dismay of Jason. He wasn’t a big fan of parties, and parties hosted by his father? Pass.
He was a vigilante, somewhat of a hero depending on who you asked, and yet here he was, in an all-too-tight tuxedo that he couldn’t even properly conceal his weapons inside of.
God, this would be a long night…
Thankfully, there was a free bar and overly fancy foods to nibble on through the night, Bruce knew exactly how to entice his family to attend these events.
Jason hung around the bar with an expensive and much too strong scotch in his hand. He gazed about the large room, observing all the snobs and phoney trust fund kids as they mingled. Pathetic, he thought. It was ridiculous to him that these people thought they were better than everyone else.
So what if they had pricey tastes that they could actually afford? It did not make them better than Jason, he was certain of that.
As he glanced about the place, taking another sip of his painfully intense scotch, his wondering eyes landed on… you?
Huh… Jason thought, a little confused. He didn’t recognise you too well, and you didn’t exactly seem the snobby type. You were hanging about alone, not making much conversation with anyone. You didn’t seem to be wearing anything too flashy or expensive either. You seemed… ‘normal’. Well, whatever Jason’s interpretation of ‘normal’ was, anyways.
He was sort of just watching you at this point, which yes, sounded very creepy, but honestly? He was just curious. He wasn’t too sure what it was that drew him to you, but he was intrigued.
Jason hadn’t exactly had much romantic luck recently - well, ever - but he thought there’d be no harm in trying. He could be quite the charmer when he wanted to be, after all.
He took a swig of liquid courage and approached you with a small smile on his face, “Hey, enjoying the party?” Oh God, does he sound like a creep. Welp, too late now!
