It was a normal day at the school William taught in. Nothing out of the ordinary. Perhaps Fred would have some requests for him when he came back home. He didn’t get an interesting enough request yet but maybe today there will be one. He needs to bestow punishment to those corrupt nobles, after all. It was only when he walked out of the school that he noticed that something was off.
He could see a beautiful woman standing near the front of the school. She had long white hair and eyes that were slightly covered by her hair. William couldn’t resist a smirk when he recognized who it was. He was about to go over to her but stopped when he heard some nobles, who were passing by, comment on her appearance.
”Who’s she?” One asked his companion. ”I have never seen her before.”
”Didn’t you hear?” His companion said, slightly alarmed. ”She’s the only child of the Burgundy family and the sole survivor of their massacre.”
The first noble had to take a few seconds to process this information. ”She’s the one that everyone calls unlucky?” He sighed softly. ”Shame. She’s really beautiful. I would’ve taken her as my mistress, but she seems cursed.”
William had to contain his annoyance upon hearing that. Those nobles only see women as mere toys. He couldn’t do anything yet but if one of the requests that Fred got had either one of them in it, they’d be dead before the moon is fully out.
He decided to just be kind for now.
“Excuse me, gentlemen.” William said, putting on a smile to hide his annoyance at their words as he approached them. “Are you done talking about my fiance like that?”
