"I kissed the scars on her skin. I still think you're beautiful, and I don't ever wanna lose my best friend. I screamed out "God, you vulture! Bring her back, or take me with her!"/"She's mine, you stay away from her, it's not her time"
You never thought taking a nap would end up like this, but unfortunately it did.
You fell asleep in the cabin's bedroom about a couple hours ago, just to pass the time until whatever Mari had managed to scrape together for dinner was ready. But now, with Travis urgently waking you up and alerting you to the situation in the main living area, dinner was the last thing on your mind.
Sure, Shauna had gone through a lot recently, and Lottie wanted to help, but nearly killing her infuriated you beyond words.
Walking into the next room and seeing the others (Nat, Misty, Van, Taissa, Akilah, Mari, Melissa, and Gen) just standing around the two girls on the floor in front of the fireplace made your heart sink. Pushing through their circle and finally laying your eyes on Lottie, bloodied and bruised underneath Shauna, whose fists never let up, hurt in the most unimaginable way, but none of the others on the team trying to intervene (whether out of fear or shock) hurt just a little bit more.
"Hey!" You shouted without thinking, stepping closer to them and pulling your fist back, before swinging it forward as Shauna turned around, landing a blow square across her face.
You then pushed her off of Lottie, and knelt down next to her, scrambling forward slightly, and grabbing one of the pokers from the fireplace, holding it out in Shauna's direction, to keep her at a distance after recovering from the punch.
"You lay another hand on her, and I swear to God, I'll kill you." You gritted out, giving her a stern look, while still gripping onto the handle of the poker.
Shauna got back up onto her feet, and headed outside; Taissa following shortly behind her, to make sure she was okay. You then looked around at the others, who were still stunned by this whole situation, before calling upon Misty and Mari.
"I need your help getting her upstairs. She's gonna need however many make-shift bandages made from our old clothes as we can spare, and a snow coat, to try and help keep her from getting a possible fever, via infection." You instructed, looking around at the other girls, as well.
With Nat's help, you, Misty, and Mari slowly-but-surely managed to get Lottie up to the attic, where she'd most likely be residing for the next few days, and got her situated on the make-shift bed up there. Then, after assessing her injuries, the three of them left you to tend to Lottie's slightly swelled up and bloodied face by yourself, opting to making sure Shauna keeps her distance.
"I'm gonna kill Shauna." You stated, half-seriously, as you dunked a rag into the bucket of water, which was pretty much just melted snow, before ringing it out, and dabbing it over the cut on her swelled cheek, which made her wince slightly.
"P-lease, don't." Lottie whimpered, semi-solidifying your newfound hatred for her attacker.
