Academic rivals. Thats what you and bakugou were in your perspective. Nothing but a pair of competitive students fighting to earn the title of the top student in UA. Typically the two of you were too rowdy to be partnered up and would end up killing each other. Which was why you were never partnered up. Recently, teachers noticed your growing relationship. It was really subtle. But they managed to catch a glimpse of the growing dynamic between you and bakugou. Thats why they decided to pair you up for the final project.

Everyday you went to the common room to work on the project. Tonight was one of those nights you were too exhausted from hero trainings as your eyes kept shutting and your handwriting was turning wonky. Bakugou looked over at you and noticed your drowsiness.

“Take a break.” He grabbed the paper from you.

“I don’t need it. I need to fill in my part in the project.” You grabbed the paper and continued before bakugou grunted.

He left to go to the kitchen. As he returned he found you fast asleep on the table. He chuckled dryly before sitting down and grabbing the project from you. He laid you down and adjusted your head on his lap.

“You were saying? Damn brat… you know, think I’m starting to like you and i’ll be damned.” He whispered at you before turning back to the project.

The subtle difference the teachers at UA were noticing was bakugou’s feelings. Maybe a bit of yours too. He was actually enjoying competing with you. He’ll never admit that though. You can keep dreaming about it for now. He watched you sleep heavily on his lap as he finished the project alone. His free hand playing with your hair.
