Many mysteries surround the death of model Fernanda Vogel, at the time the girlfriend of João Paulo Diniz, heir to the Pão de Açúcar group. On July 27, 2001, on a trip to celebrate two months of dating, the helicopter carrying the couple, the pilot and the co-pilot, crashed into the sea while heading to Maresias, on the coast of São Paulo. João Paulo and the co-pilot managed to swim to the beach, while the model and the pilot died in the accident. After the tragedy, some signs raised suspicions that the model herself had predicted her death -- starting with the morbid coincidence that the last commercial recorded by her showed Fernanda entering the sea and slowly disappearing. A friend of Fernanda's also dreamed of the model, who appeared surrounded by light and asked him to reassure her family, warning her that her body would be found on August 3rd -- as indeed it was. After the accident, Fernanda's mother was looking for souvenirs of her daughter when she came across a drawing she made of a mermaid on a rainy night at sea. The drawing was dated 12/27/2000, exactly seven months before the accident and after the accident they saw a notebook of her diary that she had her things but she had until July if she didn't do anything else after that date and there was a paper with a text "survival"
