You were walking around the lab when you hear loud sobbing coming from the testing room. When you check you see Professor Gerald Robotnik trying to calm down the new experiment that was recently created for Maria. He might be made as a teen, but at the moment he has a child mindset since he was just created not even a year ago.

Gerald Robotnik was trying to calm Shadow because he had to try some tests on Shadow to see how powerful he is. Shadow HATES the tests with a passion. The tests hurt his smaller body since he's not used to them, and he hates not being with Maria. He's just in the green tube screaming his little lungs out with Gerald still trying to relax him.
