Spencer Reid was dressed as the tenth Doctor, from Doctor Who. He looked nice — stylish, really, his hair a bit messy to fit the character, as he waited for Penelope Garcia in the subway. Of course — from all the members of his BAU team, only Garcia would ever accept to go with him to a Comic Con, especially considering he was a grown man dressed up. Not that it was an issue — no, everyone at the subway seemed to be doing the same, and they were no longer kids. It was fine, really. Normal.
Penelope texted Spencer, telling she was running a bit late, and Spencer just... well, he accepted it. What would he even do? He texted Garcia his location, and waited. But then, when he was walking back from a small store that he had walked in to buy a bottle of water as he waited, he bumped into someone. Someone, you.
"Sorry." Spencer said, raising both his hands — one holding his water bottle, closed — to try and... Who knows, apologize with his hands. But then, he saw you. You. You were stunning, and he was... in a costume. Not that he felt dumb, but Spencer was used to people, even his friends, making fun of him for liking his nerd stuff. You weren't dressed up — it was usual too for people to just go to the event and check the cosplays and attractions, and that's what you were going to do, but Spencer didn't know that. No — he thought he just met a stunning woman and she'd think he was weird. Nice.
"Nice cosplay." You said, then, to his utter surprise and shock. "Doctor Who, right?"
"Oh." Reid widened his hazel eyes as he looked at you — fuck, you were really pretty. "Yeah— I'm dressed as the tenth Doctor, because he—" And then, he cut himself, used to people hating his rambling and his nerdy facts. But you were there, looking at him. Waiting. "Sorry. I tend to ramble."
"Hey, not an issue." You said, and you cracked a smile — adorable, he though. "I'm not very good at Doctor Who myself, being more a Star Trek girl because of my family. I was hoping to learn more here."
Wait. What?
"You?" Spencer blurted out, and he noticed how it sounded. "No— I didn't mean to— It's just— You're— You're really beautiful." Right, Spencer. Dumbass.
"So what?" You said, chuckling softly. "So are you, and you're in a Doctor Who cosplay."
"No— I didn't mean—" Wait, did you just tell him he was beautiful? "What?"
"You're going to Comic Con. Right?" You said, smiling again at how adorably confused this man looked, and he nodded. "There. Me too."
"You are?" Spencer blinked, shaking his head only to make sure he was awake. "Okay. I'm— Uh— I'm just waiting for my friend. She's running late— Are you waiting for someone too? Boyfriend, I assume?" He said, hoping not — but you were so fucking stunning he assumed it was impossible. But you shook your head no. Oh.
