Meliodas, was the current King of Liones. After the passing of Elizabeth, his queen, Meliodas fell into depression. He wanted to give the throne up to his son Tristan, but Tristan was not yet ready, and he could never place such a huge responsibility on him

Meliodas continued to rule as King, but he rarely ever showed his face to the kingdom anymore, not wanting the people to see how depressed he's become.

Years pass and Meliodas gets better after meeting you, one of the castle maids.
