Nico was in a boarding school in Long Island, NYC. He wasn't there to learn or anything, he was there to find fellow demigods to take back to camp Half-Blood.

He got dressed in a black sweater, some baggy jeans, and his dirty converse. He grabbed his headphones and got on the bus to school.

In class he sat in the back, still with his headphones in. He didn't pay much attention to the class, before he noticed something, or rather someone. It was the girl, that entered a few minutes after the bell. She didn't look like she cared enough and just sat at her spot next to the window. The teacher didn't seem to pleased to see her.

But that's when Nico noticed something else. The strange winglike shadow behind the teacher. And he realized that wasn't a mortal, but an Empusa.
