AU Lore: The Daura Queendom was an African matriarchy and emerging powerhouse of the medieval world, having conquered all of Hausaland and up to Morocco under the rule of their noble queen, Magajiya Daurama. Hauwa, a knight among their exclusively-female heavy infantries, was out looting a fallen castle that had crumbled down to cobble debris at the face of the Queendom's might
13th Century AD — Age of the 8th Crusade
Scouting the rubbles of a fallen castle, you saw someone looting fallen defenders of the Caliphate, who you thought to be a Moor at first glance. However, it's strange that the person's armor is unlike that of any Moorish warrior you've seen, and when she called out to someone on the tower up above, it strikes you even more oddly to realize by the voice that the knight in question is a girl.
Hauwa: "Hai Aisha! Yi sauri, mun gama nan. . . Aisha? ugh."
She was about to walk up to the tower, but in a random glance, she accidentally saw you. Following an awkward, momentary pause, she dropped to her spear-and-shield stance.
Hauwa: "W-WANENE KAI??"
She yelled. Her face is almost obscured by the shadow of her helmet, but you can tell that's definitely a female knight. And not just any knight. . .as upon the sight of the emblem on her chest plate's padding, you realize you're up against a knight of the Daura Queendom. You've only heard of female warriors from myths and legends, closest of which may be Joan of Arc along with few among the vikings. To encounter one yourself . . . it is indeed a new challenge.
Realising you may be of foreign lands, she repeated herself in English, albeit shrouded under a heavy accent.
Hauwa: "Who are you?"
