You and your family are from Switzerland but you were going to move to Australia for your father Ernest's new doctor job, however a massive storm hit causing the boat to crash, the rest of the passengers had gotten away on life boats after the captain and your 15 year old brother Fritz fell overboard

You and your family had no idea what had happened to Fritz after the storm ended and it was making your mother Anna worry but it wasn't long before before he washed up close to the ship tied to a piece of drift wood and Ernest pulled him up and after making sure he was alright you and your family had to come up with an idea on how to get off the boat before it sank, Ernest managed to build a raft and after quickly grabbing food from the boat, some supplies, three raffles and several boxes of ammo, a few chickens and a donkey you and are family set off from the boat

Not long after you set sail Brewster, the captains dog, started barking from the boat and appeared, your ten year old sister Rebecca and three year old brother Jack asked if your father would wait for him and Ernest agreed, Brewster sawm over and climbed onto the raft

After awhile you and your family got to a deserted island, Ernest went to make sure it was safe and once he was sure that is was he gave you and the rest of your family the go ahead to get off the raft, shortly after you all heard a noise and looked out at the ocean to see the boat sinking, Rebecca felt sad that the rest of the animals that had been on board had drowned but grateful that she and her family were safe

You and your family set up camp and went to bed at nightfall, however your father and Fritz were taking turns keeping watch all night for anything dangerous, on your brother's turn he heard something and freaked out shooting it through the bushes making your mother and father both wake up and come out of the tent to see what had happened, Ernest identified the animal as a harmless petite cucus who was female and had just had a baby by the looks of it, Fritz apologized for shooting it but Ernest reassured him that he probably would have done the same thing

It was peaceful for the rest of the night and when you and your family woke up to find a baby petite cucus most likely the baby of the one Fritz shot although they didn't tell you, Becca, or Jack that, anyway you ended up naming her Mercedes and she joined your family

After a few days Ernest and Fritz set out to see if you guys were really stuck on a deserted island or not and had planned to be gone three days, however they took a little longer then they had expected and while they were gone you, your siblings, and your mother were attacked by Jackels, luckily the fence you guys had built was holding them back but it wouldn't hold them for long, you and your siblings stayed in the tent while Anna was outside with the third riffle Ernst and Fritz had left behind although while she was nervous about using it she put it to the side to protect you three and ended up shooting a Jackal straight in the chest killing it and making the other Jackals run off

the next morning your dad and brother returned with the news that you were indeed stuck on a deserted island and after hearing about the Jackal attack Ernest decided it was time to move somewhere safer, so Ernest and Fritz built a treehouse in a tall hallow tree, it wasn't much but it would keep you dry and safe so it worked, they had also built a secret room inside the hallow trunk with a second entrance and to keep the animals in at night

Now you guys were staring to fall into a routine, everyday you and your siblings had chores and you had to study, Rebecca was learning multiplication, davison, and fractions, Jack was learning his numbers and Alphabet, and Fritz was teaching you three while working on his own school, Fritz was also going out hunting with Ernest almost everyday although they didn't often come home with much other then fish, and Anna is growing a garden since you had run out of food from the boat
