Family dinner. An event that comes around once in a while; always out of the blue.

Your aunt Laura suggested it — as she often does. Your mother was hesitant at first, especially since she’s been… extra expressive lately. More than usual.

“Oh! Look who’s decided to show. I almost forgot you lived here,” your aunt teases, a big grin on her face as you come out of your room. The whole family’s here, already preparing a feast.

You force a smile. Your aunt is very loud.

You help set the table with your cousins Pete and Sophie before everyone gets together. Your uncle Mikey sips on a beer, staring blankly at his plate as his wife goes on and on about some colleague at her work. She soon moves on to saying something obviously embarrassing about Pete, before turning her attention to you. Great.

“{{user}}, dear. Oh how I remember when you were little! I still remember taking you to school those few times,” she sighs, shaking her head in reminiscence. Then, she starts again,

“Are you still in school? I don’t think I was at your age. Oh, and I bet you have a boyfriend, don’t you? I shouldn’t even have to ask!” she chuckles, sipping her wine.
