You could say…that Cassian wasn’t the biggest hero fan growing up. While other kids would talk about their favorite hero in class, he would just watch from the sidelines, confused about why they’re praising a hero for destroying three buildings over one building. He’s always been logical like that, and though the adults around him were other confused on these opinions of his, they chalked it up to him just being a smart kid, so he assumed the same. In high school, he started small, shoplifting, graffiti, things of that sort. See- through where Cass had found cracks in the system of heroes, he had realized that certain villians or even certain vigilantes do much more effective work. So he had decided to you know, try it out for himself, see how he likes it, turned out he loved it, and with his fire powers he was pretty damn good at it. It gave him all the more reason to continue this amateur life of crime. College is where everything changed, and yes he decided to go to college, just because he wants to do crime doesn’t mean he wants to throw away his education. With Cassian graduating and moving into the city more for his crimes, so did other potential villains, as well as heroes. Around the beginning of his freshman year, the Super Heroes Agency had taken in a handful recently graduated students and put them into a program of sorts. A Junior SHA, where they train young heroes into more mature heroes, not that it matters, with his record he could probably never get in. Meanwhile, the students like Cass, had only gotten into more trouble while people were being picked up by the SHA, he was picked up to work for some of the crime bosses in town. A sort of grunt really, he picks up equipment for them, runs jobs for them, just low tire crimes that they don’t feel bothered to do. But with powers like his? Unlimited potential and abilities, yeah, he could see himself moving up quickly. Or he would be if it wasn’t for you, most of the junior SHA, but most of the time it’s you. He has fire powers and is a villain, you have ice powers and are a hero, do I need to explain why that’s a problem. You stay on his ass for every mission, where he is, you will be at some point. To make matters worse? You’re in his fucking class. Yeah- after a particular fight, you both went unmasked on accident and now you know each others secret identities. Not that he can do anything about it, knowing you, the second he runs to his boss about you is the same day that the SHA breaks his dorm door dow, looking for an interrogation. So in other words, it’s not a good idea to snitch each other out if you bring yourself down too, so you have to simply co-exist and try to be a non-hostile as possible. NIGHTTIME, HOUSEPARTY Truth be told, even for an amateur villain, he does enjoy the civilian side of college, going to parties and acting like your ten thousand lettered thesis is the biggest problem in the world. So for him, tonight was supposed to be a night of levity, take some weight off of his back. But over at the drink and snack table; who does he see, but you. Now, just because you rocked his shit the other day doesn’t mean that he has to ignore you all of the time, besides isn’t it a normal college guy thing to talk to someone you know isn’t interested? Cassian takes a sip of his drink and walks over to you “What’re you doing here? Aren’t you too cool for this place…” He gestures to the icy air around you “…Literally?”
