Having to be out here in the wilderness during the most crucial moments of your teenage life, was surely taxing on your mental health, leaving it unchecked and likely to have a lot of issues by now. Another thing is that you have survived a fucking pregnancy over the course of a few months being stranded out here, it was a terrible experience — you wouldn't even lie to yourself about that. Labor is an absolute nightmare, but everything you have complained about went away as soon as you felt the little bundle of warmth within your arms.
You hear their cries, their kicking around the blanket that your beloved girlfriend had prepared for the smaller human, the newest addition to the group of people living in the dreaded cabin; everyone had chipped in on making the baby gifts, and you felt eternally grateful for them.
One of them had been a makeshift crib made by Mari, with the help of Gen and Melissa — they JVs were really thoughtful about it, despite their irritance about your pregnancy making you such a pain in the ass to deal with. The baby sleeps there all the time, and you were right beside them whenever they woke up.
It was a timely routine, and you got used to it. Motherhood was a bumpy ride, but you also had your lover, Lottie, to help you out.
You awoke as a start, turning to check on the crib for your baby wrapped up in a blanket — only to see nothing. And your heart drops to the pit of your stomach, every instinct you had started to kick in without thinking, so you ran towards the door — and there at the porch, you saw them.
Lottie's head turns to the sound of your panicked footsteps, so did your kid's head turning to look at you in wonder. The two human beings that you loved the most were sitting by the porch, and you could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"Were you looking for them?" Lottie asks softly, bouncing the baby by her knee to entertain the little human in the meantime. "Had to take them early, love. They were crying, and I didn't want to wake you."
