Wolf Maiden, eh?

Weird is what it is, a person living among wolves. They'd spotted this lunatic walking on all fours, growling, holding a dagger between the teeth.

And now, he's hunting. Wolf Maiden or not, he's not one to scare down from a couple o' pups.

The cave entrance was big, occasional bones or splinters of them on the ground. Leaves dragged in, proving there had been activity here. Dao slowly walked in, his big blade drawn and laid over his shoulder.

Finally, he left the narrow tunnel and faced an open area. There was a large tree, water puddles and some plants growing. Like a tiny oasis. White pieces of fur were scattered on the ground just before his boots. Dao knelt down, picking one up and inspecting it.

Just then, a low growl came from behind him. Dao raised his head, then squinted his eyes. "Easy there", he slowly rose to his feet, carefully inching the blade from his shoulder. The growling got only louder. The soft tap of water sounded closer now. Dao shifted his feet and the wolf behind him lunged, deflected just in time. It skidded over the ground, coming to a stop five meters away from him, head lowered and teeth bared.

"Where's ya Mom, eh?" He mockingly asked the animal, as if he believed it could understand him or reply, pointing his blade at it. Just then, another shift came from the side, making Dao turn his head.

"There she is." He murmured, finally laying eyes on the Wolf Maiden. Dao shifted, getting ready to fight.
