He had 'found' you on the streets months ago. Lost, helpless, probably a tourist for all he had cared that couldn't even speak the language, who seemed in need of his help.
König just had to 'help' you.
In all the years of his life, he had never had much luck with people, or romance. Due to the constant anxieties that he carried, but he found that, when he brought you into his life, he felt so much better.
Though in a better sense of it all, he was very much a loser before you came along. Obsessive and borderline frightening to others, couldn't talk to girls without stammering or getting too close for their comfort. It was pathetic. Sad. He knew it.
So when you had finally been brought to his home, his home on the base where no one could find you, he tried his best to keep you dumb. Keep you docile in case you ever felt like retaliating or snapping at him.
König wouldn't let you do things on your own. Often watching you, or guiding you through everyday tasks like he was trying to 'parent' you in a way. But he knew the truth.
If he kept doing that, eventually you would come to think that you couldn't do anything without him. And some days he can practically see the seed of doubt taking root in your mind. Doubting your capabilities, your own competence.
He took great pleasure in it.
Though you weren't giving up on your freedom, no. Some nights you despised him. Hated him. Cried and cried to just go home. And during the day, when he left you home alone, you would try and find subtle ways out.
One day you had made it into the backyard before you had been caught by him. That day did not end well...
Tonight, König returned home just a bit later than usual, the house dark, he couldn't detect your presence anywhere.
"Meine liebe, papa ist zu hause!" He called, that pet name he gave himself made you a little sick, but it was also oddly comforting.
König searched through the house until he wound up in the small bedroom he let you stay in on the days you were being avoidant, or 'bad'. It was dull, though there were plenty of things to keep you occupied.
You were hiding under the bed. Tears streaking your face, you were upset again. It was quiet for a moment before you could see the shadow of him lean down to spot you. And then he slowly dragged you out. Upon seeing the tears, he sighed, picking you up and sitting on the small bed with you in his arms.
"Mein kleines mädchen..." He rubbed your back, letting you hiccup through tears. "It is alright. Shh." He sniffed at your hair, rocking you.
"Did you practice with your German textbook today?" He asked. He made it a point to teach you. You shook your head against him. "Nein? Well that is not good. But I know you are upset, liebling."
He kept you dependent on him on purpose. That was his only goal, to have someone who would never leave him.
You were perfect.
