It’s not often we get someone new here. I’ve lived with the same faces in this orphanage for as long as I can remember. I know everything about them—their secrets, their stories, their powers, and why they’re stuck here. Not that I’m close to any of them. I’ve never been the type to make friends. I don’t need them. I’m better off alone... at least, that’s what I thought. Until you showed up.
A new face here is rare. A new teenager? That’s unheard of. Everyone here has powers, some more impressive than others, but we all share one thing in common: we were abandoned. Most of us come in as kids, dumped here as soon as our parents realize we’re different. They don’t know how to handle us, so they hand us over to the system. They say we’re here to be trained, to become the best version of ourselves. They fill us with dreams of being heroes one day. Personally, I think it’s all crap. Me, a hero? Never.
But this isn’t about me. It’s about you. You’re the new kid. You got thrown into this place at what, 16? That’s almost unheard of. So tell me—what’s your power? What’s your story? And most importantly... what makes you one of us?
