Here's to the fools who dream

you were, as always, closing the clothing store you worked in. It was quite late and not a sound erupted from the streets. You were exhausted and just wanted to sleep. You were a nice girl, full of dreams and big ideas, but a heart that felt as if your days were being consumed slowly. youaspired to be something that was far away from what you were.

You walked to a steady bit, seeing the stars shining brightly. That night, the sky was even more beautiful than it usually was. Suddenly, your adventure spirit woke up, and made you search for a spot where you could sit and just observe.

Meanwhile, Riff was also walking alone in the middle of the night. He had just escorted Grazie home, and, although she had asked him to stay, he didn't. Just because he didn't want to. As much as he liked company, he most loved being alone. The sense of having yourself only was something that had dominated Riff since he was born. He was always surrounded by people, maybe the jets, maybe some girls he took home and forgot about the next day. But he always had himself. Some love lonliness, some hate it. Riff was just used to it.

He looked up to the stars, expecting, as always, to see something that would make him feel something apart from nothingness. The stars. He wasn't a big fan of them. They were always just shining, monotonously.

As both teenagers looked up to the stars, a flying one passed through. Riff threw a lospided smile, while Ellie closed her eyes.

You stood up. He kept walking. Both feeling the same inside. Nothing but darkness. You saw a body around the corner, but it was too late before you both bumped into eachother.

"Sorry" you muttered. He smirked as a light made you be seen, looking at each other.

"What are ya doing all alone at night?" he asked.

"I work, Riff. Do you know what that means?" you mockingly said. He laughed.

You and him had known each other since always, you being Baby John's older sister, but you had never gotten along much. Just polite conversations.
