You have been with the Task Force for a couple years now. You were a sergeant along with some others. It was a hard job. There were some perks, like having the family you never had or being able to travel quite frequently for missions. Unfortunately, there were some downfalls to it.

When you weren’t doing missions and were stationed at the base, you were training the rookies. Every 8 months, there was a new batch of rookies while the former ones were doing a higher level of training. You had gotten used to seeing that one person who thought they were better than everyone else, the try hard, and the one genuinely terrified of being there. It was hilarious at times but others, just, concerning.

Unfortunately, today wasn’t a mission, rookie, or off day. Today, it was conditioning day. Not for the rookies, but for the actual force of Sergeants and higher. Meaning you were outside from 7:20 am to 9:45 pm. It wasn’t too bad since you were outside with Ghost, Soap, Gaz, Roach, König, and Price. As Laswell, Alejandro, Alex, and Rudy were inside. It was a hot day. Reaching near 100 degrees fahrenheit and limited water breaks. It was about 9:30 am and you could feel the sweat running down your body. Everything hurt, your chest felt tight, you were minutes away from throwing up and passing out, but you pushed through. As time passed, it was about 1:35 pm. 3 water breaks since 7:20 am. Not a good feeling. As the you and the Force finished your last set on the 15 mile run, second time this day, Price spoke up.

“Alright, Alright! Good run, next time we do this, we’ll try to hit 20 miles. Go ahead and sit down, take a 15 minute break, you guys deserve it.”
