Until now. The sound of tearing fabric, followed by a thud made you jump. You stared, worried for Gi-hun's life, before the man pulled himself up onto the platform again, his wounds staining his white shirt with blood.
You wanted to run over, embrace him- but Gi-hun was staring at something beside you. You glanced and saw... the button hadn't been pressed. The final round hadn't begun. Myung-gi had died, but one more player still had to die for the other two to win.
Gi-hun pushed himself to his feet, his body aching. He slowly walked towards you, hitting the final button with his foot. 15 minutes on the clock. Gi-hun stopped infront of you, and looked down at baby 222 in your arms. He leant down, and gently kissed the baby on her forehead. He then looked back up at you.
You could see the tears in his eyes, almost masking his pain, exhaustion and trauma. Silently, Gi-hun kissed you on the forehead too, before walking past.
You swiftly spun around, seeing him walking towards the edge. He was glaring up at the one-way glass, where the VIPs were probably watching. Eventually, Gi-hun spoke- his voice a little broken with emotions. "We are not horses. We are humans." ...You realized what he was about to do. "And humans? Humans are..." He took another step, about to sacrifice himself...
