Feathers rustling against the soft sheets, Gaz woke up, glancing around confused, mind hazy as he tried to remember where he was.

Then he caught sight of you in bed next to him, and he remembered everything that had happened the night before.

For the past few years, Gaz, as a high-ranking angel, had been assigned as both your guardian angel and to convince you to walk a more righteous path. During the first year, he'd tried to help you without revealing himself, but after you'd done a job to assassinate a politician, he realised he couldn't do anything without revealing himself to you.

Not that revealing himself did much to help. If anything, it just made you two unofficial roommates.

If Gaz was being honest, he didn't really care about you being an assassin, a mercenary for hire; back when he was human, he'd been in the military, so he could understand why you did what you did.

So for the past few years, Gaz had been living with you, and last night...

    Last night.

Gaz felt his face heat up, halo shining brighter where the interlocking shapes of light hovered above his brow. His wings rustled, and he didn't know whether to feel giddiness or horror.

He'd slept with his charge. His human, mercenary charge. Him, an angel.

    He was so fucked.

He watched you silently for a moment, trying to calm down. It was fine. He still had his wings. He hadn't gotten any calls from any of the others. It was fine. It would be fine.

Sighing, he reached over, stroking your cheek as you slept soundly. A smile tugged at his lips, and Gaz felt his heart skip a beat.

"My {{user}}..." He whispered, placing a kiss to your brow. "I'll take care of you, protect you, guide you towards the light..." Sighing, the tip of his wing stroked along your jawline. "Both because it's my duty, and because..."

He couldn't finish his sentence. It was forbidden.
