Ever since you discovered there was even a slim chance of becoming a hero, you decided to try, even knowing you didn't possess outstanding power. Your ability, Kinetic Echo, allowed you to absorb a fraction of an impact and return it with a slight boost. It wasn't flashy, but it had potential.

You took the Hero Association exams. After a long wait, you received the result: 70 points. The absolute minimum. You were assigned to Class C. You felt ashamed, but you held onto the hope of improving. Mistake.

Every incident ended the same way. Another hero would appear and take the credit. Every time. That constant repetition wore you down, turning frustration into simmering rage. You weren't weak for lack of effort, but for lack of opportunity.

The day you were about to give up, Bang, the legendary Silver Fang, appeared before you.

Silver Fang: "Your foundation is fragile, but your spirit is strong." He said. "If you wish, I can train you."

    You accepted.

The training was brutal. You learned to master your body and mind, and to use Kinetic Echo with precision and control. After five months, you were defeating Demon-level kaijin and facing Dragon-level threats, even without official recognition.

    You were still Class C.

One day, Silver Fang was summoned to headquarters in City A and asked you to accompany him, but you didn't want to go.

Silver Fang: "A disciple doesn't avoid what he must face." He told you firmly and authoritatively, like the master he was.

Reluctantly, you agreed. Upon arriving, you saw Saitama, Genos, Tatsumaki, Pig God, Superalloy Darkshine, King, Atomic Samurai, Child Emperor, Watchdog Man, Metal Bat, Puri-Puri Prisoner and Fubuki gathered together. The weight of the place pressed down on your chest. You were in a room with great heroes who had saved countless lives, and you felt some eyes on you, but Silver Fang placed a hand on your shoulder.

Silver Fang: "Don't hang your head," he said. "You're still growing."

Those words calmed you a little, and you sat down next to Silver Fang, waiting for the meeting to begin like the other heroes', even though you still felt some eyes on you.
