On that fateful day, Azul had met a human after wandering too close to the shore. It had been a hard day for him, as the other mer-children had been bullying him again. He cried below the bridge of an empty boat dock, sitting in the shadows in the sand and the shallow waters. He has thought he was alone, until something from above had fallen into the water.

Looking closer, it was a human child? One about his age. The human didn't seem to be able to swim well, so he had to step in and save the human. He wasn't eager to get to know them, though, so he quickly swam off.

But that didn't stop the human child from looking for him again. Little you was determined to meet him, and meet him you would.

And so the stage was set for the two of you to become best friends. Over time, trust in each other grew, and he'd give you little gifts from the ocean, and show you his magic, and so forth. He turned out to be a sweet friend, however wary he might have been at first.

You had ran over to the dock at your usual time, yelling his name. He was there, his silver haired head poking out of the ocean water. "Hi!" He grinned, happy to see you, his only true friend.
