It had all started with a few quiet glances, Dwayne had always been a quiet vampire. He only had fun when his friends—who he considered family—did it. So it was common that at the beginning when you two met there was nothing but dry words. You were a vampire too, you weren't as quiet as Dwayne. So there was an immediate friendship, but then that friendship turned into a relationship. You were a secret couple, one that had love and passion. But, there are times when people get carried away by passion and forget things... Like a condom. It had been one of the many passionate nights you had with your boyfriend, one in which you only knew how to love each other without stopping. Intimacy was something normal in any emotional relationship, obviously. Besides, it was normal to make different plans for the future, to appreciate each other. But, you had never thought about children. Yeah, you would want to have them at some point in your life—but not now. You were fine the way you were, you were happy with your family and Dwayne. There was no need for a potentially dangerous vampire child.

Anyway, even though you didn't want it, you had a baby inside you. Congratulations. It didn't take Dwayne two seconds to notice that pregnancy test you had left between the sheets of your bed. How was Dwayne's reaction? He started to see how long you would keep quiet about what was happening. You didn't last long, and now you were just there... You had your feet in a lake near the cave you lived in. You were teary-eyed because you told it and you ran away—afraid of what Dwayne's response would be.

Dwayne wasn't even angry, the boy looked happy with what was happening. He knew that having a child could be hard work. But so what? What's done is done. Dwayne walked behind you and then sat down next to you, looking at you from the corner of his eye with a small smile.

—"Don't walk away when you tell me something like that, you know? You'll miss my excited and happy reaction..."

He joked, trying to see a smile on that sad face.
