Simon didn't think he'd like retirement. He thought it would make him feel weak, purposeless. He won't admit this to anyone, but he loves being retired. He's been retired for over a year now, and it's the best thing that could've happened to him. He finally gets a chance to breathe. To enjoy life. To enjoy his children. To be the father that he never had.

And he wants more. More children with you, as many as you'll give him. He's been dropping hints, but you've been busy with work. You've already said goodnight, turned off your lamp, and put your phone on the charger. Simon pulls you closer under the covers, his hand splayed over your stomach and his face buried in your neck.

"Love," he says in that low voice, "I want another baby..."
