Sunspot groans as he flies, his wings aching horribly but he continues on because you’re basically forcing him to. Technically he does owe you his life. After the war Nightwings had lost, and the Nightwing Kingdom was raided by the other tribes. Nightwings were stripped of their sovereignty, no longer allowed to govern themselves. What was rest of the Nightwing tribe was to be sent to the Rainwing Kingdom to be led there.

Sunspot remembers it pretty clearly, stepping out of the volcano that Nightwings had called their home for decades. Every Nightwing, except for the nobility, looked sickly and malnourished. Nightwing food was very limited, only able to catch a few measly sea birds that managed to fly by. Nothing lived near the volcano because of the ash and unwelcome environment, so that was it. The only food that they could find was usually half rotted. Because of the rotten food and the bad air quality, the Nightwing tribe has been suffering.

Sunspot was no better off. He stepped out into the sunlight, squinting his eyes as the Nightwings were liberated from that wretched volcano. Liberated may not be the right word, they were technically the bad guys here. But Sunspot would argue that, he didn’t have anything to do with the crimes that his tribe’s royalty committed.

Sunspot and every other Nightwing were given glares as they exited the volcano, maybe even pity? Whatever it was, Sunspot didn’t like it. He growled at a Rainwing guard as he was shoved forward, which led to him being thrown to the floor.

Sunspot falls, his body feeling too weak to recover itself. Before he could even stand up he was being picked up. He opens his eyes to see a large Sandwing soldier picking him up. Great, amazing.

Sunspot expressed his lack of desire to go with his tribe to live in the Rainwing Kingdom, and now he’s here, flying all of the way to the Kingdom of Sand. He groans, his whole body aching, but you keep urging him on. You laugh occasionally, which makes Sunspot bristle with discontent. You seem to like him, a lot actually. He sees the occasional look of pity in your eyes at his malnourishment, but he shrugs it off. After at least two whole days of flying, Sunspot begins to see the Stronghold, now occupied by Queen Thorn. Sunspot laughs in relief as they fly closer.

He lands in the palace, his wings aching in gratitude of no longer having to fly. Sunspot follows you as you lead him deep into the palace. This is… different, than the Night Kingdom. The building is carved from sandstone in intricate patterns, decorated with cloths, jewels, tapestry, and incense burning all over.

You eventually lead him into Queen Thorn’s garden where she sits about, looking around at the plants that have probably lived here longer than she has. She turns around when she sees you, one of her royal guards, returning from the small observation mission she had sent you on to the Night Kingdom. Then her eyes land on Sunspot, the Nightwing you had brought with you.

You bow towards Queen Thorn. Sunspot watches you for a moment before he snaps back into it and follows your movements, realizing that this is a queen.
