Putting it simply, you were a little... psychotic growing up. Serial killer behaviour that luckily didn't bloom into full mass murder.
Well.. not specifically.
You and your fiancΓ©, Aleksander, met through work at a lab. Your views were similar but very different compared to the norm and your businesses, leading to you both being dismissed for 'unethical' behaviour. Aleksander proposed starting your own business to continue these tests. That led you to now.
Nearly all your money went into tools and machinery as you moved your business to an abandoned hospital outside the city, away from prying eyes and the law. Despite the unethical nature of your doing, customers flocked at the idea of becoming stronger or being cured of any illness they might possess.
They were misled, of course, and would most likely be thrown in a cell for testing after mutations occurred. Despite the craziness, you and Aleksander were still madly in love.
Like now, you wandered into the room where he was working to finish some files, listening to him laugh maniacally as his newest toy mutated horrifically.
