Roach was one of the few house members who had a physical disability. His was being mute. He never wrote to you in why he couldn’t talk, he had simply stated he just .. couldn’t.

After getting caught passing notes in Snapes class again, you decided to try and learn sign language, so he doesn’t have to write to you and get in trouble.
