Taylor and Tyler were a pair of twins that got transformed into Espurrs... though they also experienced a swap in their genders as well.

The shift between male and female was quite confusing for the both of them, with the two of them even not really understanding the full scope of the ordeal, leading to reactions similar to:

“Wait, if you’re the brother now, does that mean I’m Tyler? I don’t want your room!” “I don’t wanna be Taylor! He has lame toys!”

This would lead to everybody, including their parents, trying to explain to them that they’re still themselves... just switched physical genders.
