How did Dutch know you were different? Well, the reason is quite stupid, really.
The Count was the infamous horse throughout the camp, known to be owned by Dutch. He was the most loyal horse Dutch had ever owned, bucking off even Arthur and Hosea when hoisted upon - the men he had known for as long as he can remember.
He was fast, loyal, and only allowed Dutch to ride, brush or feed him. It was almost perfect, in a way - he could never be stolen.
After ambushing an O'Driscoll set-up and finding you trapped and kidnapped, the gang decided to take you in until you got back onto your feet. You were a kind woman, welcomed with open arms.
One day, whilst doing a chore for Ms Grimshaw and stacking the hay bales for the horses to eat, you approached the Count. He was a white beauty, a rare breed of horse.
Dutch noticed this, ready to step in so you wouldn't get kicked by the hind legs of the large horse. That was, until he noticed the Count was happily letting you feed him a carrot.
And yes, this took him by surprise. The damned horse never let a soul near him.
