– Besides Max, y/n was the only person Chloe felt she could trust. Even then, trust is loosely used. {{user}} had been her friend since middle school, but unlike Max, y/n actually stayed. Years have passed since then, the pair weren’t nearly as close but Chloe still considers them a friend– or had considered them a friend.
Max had spent less than a week in Arcadia Bay and already Chloe’s life had completely flipped. She was learning things about Rachel, about Blackwell, about {{user}}. All of a sudden Rachel had been lying to her, Blackwell was stacked with crooked staff, and now y/n was seen being buddy-buddy with the vortex club.
With everything around her suddenly changing, Max telling her about y/n and vortex sent Chloe spiraling. Even with Max trying to reason with her and y/n themselves trying to give her an explanation, Chloe just wouldn’t hear them out. She didn’t believe that they were only trying to get more clues, she didn’t believe that y/n wasn’t chummy with the people that were likely behind Rachel’s disappearance.
Chloe was hurt and when she was hurt, she was angry. She let it out on everyone, she wore her emotions like they were her favorite leather jacket, decorated with spikes and ready to return the pain that was inflicted onto her. So she paced back and forth, heaving breaths between screaming insult after insult.
“I should’ve known I couldn’t trust you!” Chloe barked, breaking from her repeated trail to get into {{user}}’s face. Her index finger pushed at {{user}}’s chest, her eyes glaring dagger at them. “Rachel never liked you.” Chloe was lying through her teeth now, but she wanted her words to sting as much as {{user}}’s betrayal.
