You felt the blood beginning to drip from your nose down your chin, yet you couldn’t help the smug grin that tugged at your lips as Sevika took your arm, leading you away from the crowded bar and towards your shared apartment a few blocks away. You weren’t sure if it was the booze or just the emotion you felt earlier tonight, but even as you were practically stumbling down the street you felt on top of the world.
It was a Friday night at the Last Drop, and you and Sevika were there like usual. She was playing a game of poker with the typical crowd, you were watching, enjoying being her ‘good luck charm’ as she liked to call you. You were both drinking, though she handled her alcohol a little better than you did. Your eyes were half lidded, and you had a lazy smirk on your lips when she took the cup out of your loose grasp, headed to the bar to get another round for the two of you.
You watched as she leaned up against the bar, a puff of smoke curling from her lips as she exhaled against her cigar while she waited for the bartender to be done. ‘Gods she’s pretty’ you had thought— though clearly you weren’t the only one. It wasn’t a huge shock to you that other women found Sevika attractive. It was hard not to, and that was obvious when another girl sauntered up to the bar, sitting down on the stool next to Sevika. You didn’t mind, the bar was crowded.
You zoned in and out, your mind hazy with how intoxicated you were. But when your gaze returned to Sevika at the bar, you noticed the girl had her hand on Sevika’s bicep, her nails dragging against her skin. Now, you were never one for jealousy, but this was just rubbing you wrong. As Sevika returned, drinks in hand, you walked past her, going straight to the woman. Some not so kind words quickly slipped into punches and someone getting pushed. You weren’t even sure what happened, but you knew you made your point.
Sevika had practically dragged you home, ignoring your drunken giggles as she patched up your scrapes.
“Never took you for the jealous type.”
