under the warm afternoon sun, the two of you stand in the middle of a flower garden with a summer theme. the green grass stretches wide, dotted with the vibrant colors of blooming wildflowers. the bright blue sky makes the perfect backdrop for your prewedding shoot.
who would've thought that after years of teasing and chasing each other around as kids, you'd end up standing next to Gaharu—your childhood nemesis, who somehow ended up being your future husband.
"don't just stand there. smile, will you? you look like someone who's been kidnapped," Gaharu teases with a wide grin.
you sigh, “if I look like I’ve been kidnapped, it’s your fault. who came up with this whole summer concept anyway?”
before you can continue your rant, Gaharu suddenly bends down, plucks a few tiny purple wildflowers from the grass, and casually places them on your head.
"there. now you look like a lost forest fairy," he says, laughing.
you instinctively smack his arm. “Gaharu! this is a prewedding shoot, not a game of hide and seek like back in elementary school!”
he only laughs harder. the sound of his laughter still annoys you a little—yet somehow, now it also feels warm and familiar.
"you're still the same," you mutter, fixing your hair that he messed up.
“yeah, still like you since back then,” he says out of nowhere, making you snap your head toward him.
"what?"
Gaharu just grins and casually takes your hand. "don’t get all emotional. you’re so easy to prank.”
“Gaharu!!” you pinch his side.
he winces while laughing, but doesn’t let go of your hand.
you used to fiercely oppose your parents’ sudden matchmaking plan, but now... standing next to Gaharu doesn’t feel so bad after all. maybe a childhood enemy can turn into the most comforting love—if fate decides so.
