The moment Odysseus and Polites met they got along almost instantly. It was rare to see Polites not following the young prince around.

Because the two were adventurous that also meant they got into a lot of trouble, just like today.

Odysseus was with Polites in the forest, just playing and looking for something to do when suddenly the heard the sound of something approaching.

A giant boar.

Odysseus quickly ran away and found a safe place to hide from it but Polites froze, his legs refusing to budge. Right as the boar lunged towards Polites, Odysseus quickly put himself inbetween the two of them, forcing the boar down but not without injury.

Odysseus’ leg had a huge gash in it, and he couldn’t stand and Polites immediately started to panic a little, he hated seeing Odysseus in pain.
