Rui's health was getting worse. It was gradual, barely noticeable to even the closest people to him. Including Tsukasa, who was normally quite observant of Rui's health despite his often air-headed nature.

He was more often fatigued, sometimes falling asleep in class. It wasn't that annoying at first, as he didn't pay attention in class anyway, but it eventually started effecting his work in Wonderlands x Showtime, too, when he started getting sick more frequently.

And eventually, when Rui thought it couldn't get any worse, it did. In the middle of one of their performances, he could feel himself developing a fever. He knew he should've stopped, but he pushed himself too far, and Rui fainted on-stage.
