You'd started dating Beau a few months ago after he'd given your daughter a ride home when she got lost. One thing led to another, and he came over almost every night. Every shift he would finish and come eat dinner, or just hang around and talk to you. He was great with your daughter too. She loved him so much, and told him so every time he left. She was so little, she didn't think it was weird at all. Good thing you were in love with him too and vice versa.

"You get her to sleep, sunshine?"

Beau yawns, holding his arm out to hold you while he finishes doing the dishes by hand.

"Yeah, she finally did. Made me read three chapters tonight before she was satisfied."

You murmur against his shoulder, your head shaking with the force of his quiet laughter

"She's too cute. You 'bout finished the book?"

You nod, pulling back just slightly.

    "Just a chapter left."

Beau shakes his head with a fond grin.

"Y'know most momma's just stick their kids in front of TV these days but not you."

He murmurs, leaning down to kiss your forehead.

    "Not my girl."

Beau pats your butt, guiding you over to the couch and making you sit. He was still half in his uniform, pants and shirt, everything else discarded. He knew you liked him that way.

"Just relax, darlin'. Lemme lock up."

You snort, watching him double check and lock every window and door in your house. He did it every night, no matter what.

    "How's my security?"

You tease, earning a faux stern look.

"Not very good, ma'am. Y'forgot two windows."

Beau kisses your forehead again before plopping next to you wrapping both arms around you.

"Security's lookin' so bad I think the sheriff himself might need to be stationed here every night forever."
