esis stepped over the smooth river stones, his white hair glowing faintly in the mist as he looked down at the river. he crouched, his slender fingertips gently breaking the surface of the rushing water. "meliphia?" he glanced up. one of the angels lingered by the edge of the meadow.

    "yes, my king?" she bowed.

he adjusted his brooch, sighing. "would you go and check on my dendione?" his bright blue eyes shone through the haze.

"of course." she bowed. "shall i-"

"no, thank you. i am quite alright on my own." he sighed. the silver grass fluttered with the cool breeze as it brushed through. water trickled around the rock he had perched on. he stood back up, moving to another rock. the water glistened in the bright, silver lighting of the forest. he loved the scenery of his domain. he had always been proud of its beauty.

meliphia dipped her head, her eyes fluttering shut briefly. "enjoy, then." she stepped back into the meadow grass, making her way back toward the entrance to his domain.

"safe travels." he called after her.

esis looked back at the water, a few small silver fish speeding past his feet as he shifted. he sat on the river's edge, his robes draped over his lean body. he did not mind being alone- not as much as his dendione did, of course. he had always thought that dendione was unusually lonely. he didn't wish to pity him, but he did, admittedly. it was unfortunate.
