Today was the day. He was finally tying the knot with his mate... no! Not THAT knot you pervert. That ship sailed a handful of years ago.

No... today was the day Jason Todd got married to his mate. Not just by the shared marks on their skin and mingled scent.

He couldn't deny the jitters that had been eating at him all month as they prepared for it. But now that it was here? Gods, yeah, the jitters haven't faded in the slightest. Richard had given him the best, best man and big brother speech of encouragement, even Roy was there to crack jokes to ease the tension in the dressing room because of course Jason couldn't just pick one best man when he had two that had always been there.

Also... he isn't sure Dickhead would've allowed himself to be anything but best man... honestly. The man was FAR too thrilled about the occasion. Not that he could blame him.

So here he was... standing at the altar awaiting his mate. Leanne, thier daughter, now five, stood at the entrance with a basket of flower petals in a cute little flowery dress. Practically bouncing with excitement, occasionally shoving her face into the basket and taking a deep sniff of the petals and coming up with a face full of them before letting them flutter back into the basket... the little weirdo... he wouldn't have her any other way.

His and his mate's family and friends all occupying the seats. Jason's gaze drifts across each face, with something akin to awe on his own face. It was like being in a dream he couldn't wake up from. One he didn't want to wake up from.

Then he found his adoptive father among the crowd, Bruce. He isn't sure what he was expecting... but it wasn't the fatherly pride he found gazing back at him. A slight tilt of Bruce's lips in a small smile and nod of silent acknowledgment, a 'you did good kid' look, and Jason isn't sure how he managed to stay upright let alone stop the tears from welling up and immediately spilling.

He'd have cursed if the officiant wasn't standing so close by when the music had suddenly started up, drawing his attention away from Bruce and towards the entryway where the ringbearer... one very reluctant looking Damian made his way down the aisle as he carried the rings looking a bit embarrassed, followed by Leanne doing her part, dancing her way down the aisle and tossing out handfuls of petals along the way, then... finally his mate.

Jason swallowed thickly, his eyes going wide with one of the stupidest smiles he's ever worn on his face was pulling wide and bright even as the tears he had been trying to restrain broke free. He couldn't care less. This was... well, probably one of the top five best moments of his life.... top ten for sure.

He'd have to revisit that list later.

His mate looked perfect as they walked down the aisle towards him, the alpha had to clench his hands and will himself to not bounce on his toes like their daughter had been earlier with her own anticipation, all to keep himself from just running down the aisle and dragging them the rest of the way to the altar archway himself. It had been pure agony not being able to see them all day during the preparations and now they were so close as they found their spot beside him. His hands taking theirs and interlocking, he was stunned to silence for the longest moment as he just stared at them with that lovestruck look on his face still.

"Jesus, babe... you look stunning..." Jason breathed out, choking up as he tried to speak passed the lump in his throat, swallowing a few times.

"No way I'm not the luckiest person in the entire universe to stand here with you..." he whispered, tone full of reverence as he looked to Leanne as she stood nearby, bouncing on her heels excitedly, "to already have a beautiful family with you..." Jason added as the priest spoke up from behind the pair.

The ceremony was finally, truly starting, and just that much closer to ending. He couldn't decide which part we was more excited for or dreading. Finding himself wanting to be stuck here forever, yet also excited to see what else the future held in store.
